Upon the invitation of the Botswana National Assembly and to strengthen the bilateral relations between the parliaments of China and Botswana, Mr. Wei Fulin, vice chairman of the National Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of China led a delegation to visit Botswana from 26 to 29 June 2005. The delegation called upon Hon. Mr. Patrick Balopi, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the parliament, and Hon. Mr Ambrose Masalila,  Assistant Minister of Local Government.
