China and Botswana share the common goals of reducing poverty and achieving sustainable development

Speaking at the reception for the 2018 Chinese Lunar New Year on 8th February 2018, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana, H.E. Dr Zhao Yanbo stressed that there are great cooperation potential between China and Botswana.

Ambassador Zhao reiterated that China has always attached great importance and showed great sincerity and faithfulness to the development of friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

   

He added that both China and Botswana share the common goals of reducing poverty and achieving sustainable development. China is willing to work with Botswana to fully align development strategies and to share governance experience so as to better improve the ability to fight against poverty and to accelerate the economic development.

   

For his part, Acting Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation and also Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Hon. Vincent Seretse reaffirmed that Botswana holds strong desire and commitment in nurturing the existing close ties and friendship, which are underpinned by mutual respect and understanding between the two countries. Botswana also greatly value the vital support that China continues to render to Botswana.

   

Chinese people have the tradition to celebrate the Spring Festival for making the new year plan in spring. In Chinese Lunar calender, the year 2018 is the year of dog. The new year falls on 16th February 2018.
