|Chinese Sport Delegation Visited Botswana|
At the invitation of Hon. Maj.Gen.Moeng R.Pheto, the Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture of Botswana, Mr. Wang Jun, Vice Minister of the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC) and also the Vice President of Chinese Olympic Committee (COC), headed a 6-member delegation to visit Botswana from 30th July to 2nd August. The aim of the visit is to further strengthen the friendly relations and promote sport cooperation between China and Botswana.
Mr. Wang and his delegation accompanied by H.E. Ding xiaowen, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana held talks with minister Pheto on 31st July. Mr Wang briefed minister Pheto the latest progress of the preparation for the coming 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and extended an invitation to Hon. Pheto to pay a visit to China late this year. Mr. Wang declared that, in support of Wushu (Martial arts) development in Botswana, China would like to donate a series of Wushu Taolu(a set pattern), apparatus and teaching materials as well as send two Wushu coaches to Botswana this year. Minister Pheto thanks Mr Wang for China's efforts in supporting the sport movement of Botswana, hoping that China will assist Botswana in table tennis, gymnastics and badminton etc. He accepted the invitation to visit China.
During his stay in Botswana, Mr Wang also held separate meeting with Mr Negroes Malealea Kgosietsile, the president of Botswana National Olympic Committee and Kagiso Kitso Kemoeng, Chief Executive Officer of Botswana National Sport Council.
