Vice Foreign Minister of China Receives Donation of the Botswanian Government

On May 21, 2008, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui met with visiting Botswanian Minister of Education Jacob Nkate. Nkate conveyed the profound condolences and sympathy of the Botswanian government to the Chinese government and people as well as to the victims' families and expressed admiration for the courage and strength demonstrated by the Chinese people in quake relief. Nkate, on behalf of the Botswanian government, transferred 1.06 million RMB yuan worth of aid to the Chinese side.

Zhang, on behalf of the Chinese government, thanked for Botswana's condolences and assistance, pointing to the great support offered by Botswana's government to Chinese people after the earthquake disaster. The generous aid offered by Botswana this time again proves that the Botswanian people are tested friend of the Chinese people. China cherishes the friendship wit Botswana and believes that with the joint efforts of both sides, bilateral relations will embrace a brighter future.
