The article, which was aimed at introducing the country to Chinese, fascinated a large number of readers who wanted to know more about it.
In the article, Mr. Ding wrote about Basarwa, some of whom are still living without adequate housing, and the story touched a retired Chinese edler named Ou Bangshen who decided to donate his life savings, amouting to 200,000(P190,000)to the hut bulinding project.
However he said only half the amount was accepted, as the elder had no other source of income after retirement.
Ms. Venson-Moitoi thanked the Chinese for reaching out to Batswana in all spheres, adding that the Chinese Embassy was the first to respond to her call for help.
She said the Mmabesi Development Trust would countruct 36 single units to help the underpricileged Basarwa community in Sehunou settlement.

"at least 36 families would be able to escape the bad elements of the weather," she said. Of the 36 houses, she said 20 would be built through the assistance og the Chinese, who are so far the largest donor.
Other houses have veen built in villages such as Thabala, Mogorosi, Moiyabana and Mabuo.
The MP further said the project is a success, though she has not yet reached her target of constructing 40 houses in a year.
