Chinese Embassy Donated T-shirts to BWA

The Chinese Embassy in Botswana donated 200 T-shirts which amount to 13,000 Pula to Botswana Workcamps Association for their Annual General Meeting which will take place in Francistown this month.

A hand-over ceremony was held at the Embassy on August 7th. Mr Ding Xiaowen, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana handed over those T-shirts to Mr. Kagiso N.Ntime, President of BWA.

Mr Ding said that the donation was for the purpose of promoting development of local youth. "Botswana young generation are energetic and ambitious, we as the Embassy here wish to help them to chase their dreams and also give them some facilities in paying back to community and society".

Mr. Ding noted that in China, there are also many similar NGOs like BWA, which mostly comprise young persons and focus on the mission of voluntary service. He also challenged them to raise gender equality within their association and be more global. "You should attract and recruit more female members and invite more international partners to work together with you" he said.

For his part, Mr Ntime expressed his heartfelt appreciations to Mr Ding and Chinese Embassy. He said he and his members enjoyed a pleasantly surprise as the Embassy quickly responded to provide all the T-shirts they need. They will keep the kindness of China in their minds and be encouraged to work harder and harder in the future. He also applauded that it was a good beginning of cooperation between BWA and Chinese organization and hoped to build closer relationships with his Chinese Counterparts.
