Chinese Embassy donates Christmas Gifts

On the 23rd December 2008, Mr. Ding Xiaowen, the Chinese Ambassador to Botswana donated hampers of foodstuff to underprivileged families in Mogoditshane. The Member of Parliament for Mogoditshane, Mr. Patrick Masimolole received those Christmas gifts from Mr. Ding on behalf of the villagers. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chinese Embassy and promised all 100 hampers would be donated to the six wards of the constituency. Each hamper contained rice, flour, cooking oil, milk, sugar, tomato sauce, vegetables, etc, amounting to a total value of P10,000.

Mr. Ding noted that every person has the right to enjoy a happy Christmas festival. Christmas also provides a good opportunity for the whole society to do something good for the underprivileged people. “As a true good friend of Botswana, the Chinese Embassy will continue to make donations to those needy families during the 2009 New Year’s Day holiday.” Mr. Ding said.

With Christmas approaching, the Chinese Embassy has been actively donating hundreds of hampers to local underprivileged families across the country. Many football teams will also take part in the Constituency League during Christmas with soccer kits and footballs donated by the Embassy.
