One of the major objectives of China’s aid is to support African countries such as Botswana to reduce poverty and improve people's livelihood. Adhering to the principles of sincerity, practical results, affinity and good faith, China has been continually providing assistance to Botswana in many areas such as education, medical and humanitarian aid. In order to further support the infrastructure construction of Botswana while improving the local livelihood, China decided to donate 31 solar street lights to Mochudi in Kgatleng District. With these lights, residents in Mochudi can embrace safer and brighter evenings from now on.

Council Chairman Mpho Morolong appreciated China's long-term support to Botswana's economic and social development, and indicated that local community will enjoy a safe and colorful life with the solar street lights project.
