Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong Attends a Meeting Between Principal Leaders of Chongqing Municipality and the Study Group of Diplomatic Envoys of African Countries to China

On December 3, 2019, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong travelled to Chongqing Municipality for a meeting between Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee Chen Miner and Mayor of Chongqing Municipality Tang Liangzhi and the study group of diplomatic envoys of African countries to China. He also exchanged views with diplomatic envoys.

All diplomatic envoys expressed their gratitude to the Foreign Ministry and Chongqing Municipality for organizing their study tour, and congratulated Chongqing Municipality on its important achievements in development since the founding of the People's Republic of China 70 years ago. They believed that the visit has deepened their understanding of China's development path and philosophy, and expressed their willingness to work together with the Chinese side to well implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and deepen China-Africa mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation. They also look forward to elevating the cooperation between Chongqing and Africa to new highs.

The group visit of the African diplomatic envoys to China to Chongqing Municipality was organized by the Secretariat of the Chinese Follow-up Committee of the FOCAC and attended by ambassadors or chargé d'affaires ad interim of 27 African countries to China.
