President Khama Sent a Condolent Message to President Hu Jingtao

On May 13th, 2008, Let. Gen.Seretse Khama Ian Khama, President of the Republic of Botswana, sent a condolent message to H.H. Hu Jingtao, President of the People's Republic of China for quake-hit areas in southwest China.

President Khama said that it was with great sadness that he had learnt of a massive earthquake which struck the Southwestern Province of Sichuan on Monday afternoon, and claimed thousands of lives and caused extensive damage to property.

"In this moment of great tragedy and immense sorrow, I wish on behalf of the Government and the People of Botswana and on my own personal behalf to offer our profound sympathies to the Government and the people of the People's Republic of China, and in particular to all the families most affected by this natural disaster." President Khama said.
